Crafting my way through political turmoil
The recent Mayoral Primary Zohran Mamdani win in NY was a needed breath of fresh air after the last six months.
Congratulations Zohran Mamdani! While I am new to him and his policies I am excited to see what he can do once has got the reigns. We still have the primary election to get through in November but I am allowing myself a moment of rare hope.
The US round of βwhose authority is it anyway?β is waging in the courts on all levels as Trumps decisions are being challenged or upheld. The tactics to manufacture consent for another war in the Middle East backfired so spectacularly that Trumps admin scrambled to claim victory for a problem they themselves started. The incompetence of politics in general is on full display as Democrats fail to organize meaningfully on a direction or messaging. The way some are talking about the primary results for Mamdani is actually embarrassing. Rather than accept the direction the people want politics to go and admit that establishment democrats keep trying to run failed strategy they are lashing out. Fetterman called it a βwin for the GOPβ. (That one feels a bit like projection).
I am once again here to tell you about the wonders of Opensecrets.org, a tool that we will be using frequently as we jump head first into this next election season. November will be here faster than we realize. Itβs time to hone in our laser focus on local politics. Your Mayor, your school board, your local judges. We must come from all directions to bring change- which includes voting.
Now Iβm going to get back to stress making rainbow earrings because there are still a few days left of Pride!
