Show Me Your Mask's Newsletter will be about a range of topics, but mostly I'm here to annoy oil executives.
With the awesome response I've gotten from the newsletter I put together on my Wix website- I have made the decision to take it to a platform with more tools I can use to keep folks up to date!
Iโm getting back into the habit of writing again. Not only do I enjoy this immensely, but I also get to send you all updates without relying on TikTok or an algorithm to bring me to you. Tiktok has always been inconsistent, but Twitter is also going up in flames, so I have been at the drawing board brainstorming how to keep the momentum going for defending ICWA and amplifying climate action.
I am still finding my sea legs in the world of journalism and reporting- but I am quickly learning that I have a deep interest in understanding the inner workings of media. I am now in a live-crash course in media management and ethics, thanks to my partnership with Popular Information to manage their account on Tiktok and make videos based on their coverage. This has easily been the wildest time of my life yet all of the things that seemed utterly impossible not that long ago, are now falling into place. We crossed 350 subscribers on my first version of this newsletter. Youtube is also growing, closing in on 1,000 subscribers, the first big milestone.
Now we are going into the holiday season and the push isnโt going to stop, many movements are just getting started. I am so thankful you all have chosen to join me on my journey. Many of you found me when I was just making masks to support my family during covid, and didnโt skip a beat when my content pivoted a year ago. Welcoming new people to the community, supporting the climate movement and each other while navigating these insanely stressful world history-altering events that just keep happening this year. You all are incredible, thank you.
The elections were not all around disappointing, losses were expected but there have also been some exciting wins. A mutual on TikTok, Annessa for Oregon won her bid for house district 40 seat in Oregon!
I am nervously excited to see what is in store for the next few months. There is no going back now. The change is very much already here, we are currently living in it.
Letโs Bully the Rich.
Thank you again for your support all of this time, we are just getting started. :)
