Preparing for more travel

Working out my next trip to help my dad.

There is a discussion of a second ceremony for Baby Louise Haven, the orphanage associated with Morningside. My dad asked me to attend to document it as I did before in Portland. I don’t have travel dates yet, but I am beginning to make arrangements to attend. Also, I am asking the community to help me fund the travel and lodging so that I can assist my dad.

Thank you again for supporting my family and me as I navigated some truly monumental change and growth for my platform, career, and myself. When I entered this work three years ago, I was deep in postpartum depression, trying to find stability as everything in my life fell apart at the beginning of Covid. My father and I’s relationship was more distant than ever, and I nearly lost him to illness at that time.

Since entering this space of deconstructing, decolonizing, climate action, and anticapitalism, I have found a community of people who see me in a way I never saw myself. I am now learning more about my father’s work and the people he has connected with over my lifetime. I don’t know if I would have been able to reconnect with my father in any other way. Thank you for this gift.
