Tribes sue US over Indian boarding school abuse.
A lawsuit was filed today in Pennsylvania calling on the US government to give a full accounting of the 23.3 billion in funds appropriated for the boarding schools. “Arguing that the tribes have never been compensated for the child abuse or for the money taken from tribal trust funds to operate the schools.”

Not much information is available right now but I will be watching this lawsuit closely. This comes only a few days after the Governor of NY made a formal apology for the states role in Indian Boarding schools. I hope more states make similar arrangements sooner than later. There is a lot of work that can be done on the state level to continue the momentum on Indian boarding school research.
